We finished Week 1.
Yay!!!
This week I will have another general post. Next week I hope to explore some passages, people and scriptures from my reading.
For today, I want to remind everyone that this is a time to read, not study. But if you are anything like me you see passages you would love to explore further.
Reading Tips
- Keep a notebook on hand. Now, I’m adding this tip but don’t get carried away. It is great however, to identify a passage—character, story, etc.—you would like to study further after completing the reading.
- Keep a highlighter nearby. If you are okay with marking in your bible or if you are reading electronically, mark the passage. This will allow you to keep moving and later you can go back and find your markings.
- Keep an open mind. Let today be today. Let tomorrow’s reading be tomorrow’s reading. My first time reading I did a little of this and a little of that. Some days I marked in my bible, other’s I added notes to my journal.
Remember for the next 83 days we are committed to read. Reading is all that is required. However, I hope these fews tips will help those of you who would like to note a passage or two along the way.

Very interesting start!
I agree. Keep reading and let me know if you need me.
Hi there, just checking in. Sooo I have a little catching up to do…but I’m so EXCITED ’cause it’s my 1st time reading the ENTIRE Bible.
Since I do better on a schedule, I plan to block off time just for reading 🙂 Thanks for the tips.
Hey! No problem. Keep reading. Falling behind happens and it looks like you have a game plan to keep you one track. Having a schedule ALWAYS makes it easier. I’m glad to help and I’m here cheering you on. 🙂
Hello, I didn’t get through all the reading this week. I am a processor if that makes sense , i knew when i started this it would be hard for me to just read. Anyway i will continue to read and try to keep up.
Hello Mandy, I understand. I’m similar which is why I tend to jot down notes here and there. (I have a dedicated notebook and I mark passage ranges, people, etc in it.) I think this week’s tips will help. And let where you are be where you are. Keep reading and try to add a few extra pages each day. You’ll get caught up. You can do it!
Also, I have an idea for us processors after this first 90 days. I’ll keep you posted.
Hi Dana, I made it through the first week. First let me say, I was amazed to read all of Genesis and Exodus in a week….a week….me, I did that. As much as I love the Lord and His Holy Word, I have the worst reading habits. One of my goals with this challenge is to get myself in a daily routine of being in God’s Word. Sunday was the hardest day for me. We are usually busy with going to church, eating and some visiting but I pushed through and I’m still on track. I know as time goes on, the weekends are going to be difficult but I’m determined to push through. Your tips have really helped me.
Hey Tonia, YAY!!!! Doesn’t it feel amazing?! Congrats to you. As for reading habits, this is the perfect plan to help with it. I’m like you in that we are super busy on the weekends. I’ve found that reading a few extra pages on Thursday and Friday helps. Usually towards the end I carry my bible in my purse and read every chance I get. But I must admit, learning to carve out time daily and sit with God will always prove fruitful and worth your time.
I’m glad the tips are helping and I’m here if you need me. Keep reading! 😉
Hello, I have taking on the challenge and I’m reading every chance I get. Especially on my lunch break, I use my Bible App. Thanks xoxo
Hello. Awesome. I think Bible reading apps are just amazing. Take care and keep reading.
Whew!! What a week! I’m glad to be onboard. I also have a little catching up to do as we’ve been traveling but I’m excited about this endeavor. 🙂
That about sums it up. LOL! It’s great to have you and congrats on adjusting with your travel schedule. Let me know if you need me.
