What do you have stored up in your heart?

[featured-image single_newwindow=”false”]

I don’t know about you but I have enjoyed this month of focusing on specific passages. What I have found the most beneficial is writing the posts. There is something about writing my thoughts that gives me such clarity.

I’ve had more than one episode of waking in the middle of the night with understanding about a passage like it was just dropped in me. It has been amazing.

I’ve had moments of hearing myself speaking and applying… Living this word!

What I’m saying is…I get it. I get why God’s word is so important. And I thought I got it before but I think knowing I would share with you all here made me feel the pressure.

I feel the same when I preach. Because I want to know Jesus and represent Him well. I want to be productive for God’s kingdom. I want you to as well.

So on to today’s passage…

The Passage

(I’m going to add it since its only two verses.)

“No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. Each tree is recognized by its own fruit. People do not pick figs from thornbushes, or grapes from briers. The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks.”

Luke 6:43-45 NIV

I did not have this passage on my original schedule, but we are reading Luke in my small group. Then I saw it.

Who knew this month would almost focus entirely on fruitfulness? I sure didn’t. And the focus is not based on our efforts but as a result of being connected to Jesus.

I want to ask again…

What’s in your heart?

And I thank God for Jesus because He’s working on this heart of mine daily. Because my relationship with Him is not about…

What I do…

Who I know…

Where I’m from…

Where I’ve been…

But its about my heart.

“For out of the overflow of his

heart his mouth speaks.”

(Luke 6:45b)

I pray you too are connected and allowing your life to be transformed into His image.
