How many of you are merely existing in a place of absolute discomfort?
Not because you are bold and daring. No, this discomfort stems from…
This discomfort does not fit well–and it shouldn’t. Nothing about your life as a believers should be average.
We usually make one concession, then another. Years pass and we wake one day thinking…
How did I get here?
Not the physical here since the answers to that varies…
LIFE led us here.
However, in the midst of reacting to our circumstances we kind of gave up our dreams. Maybe not all of them. We have had some desires along the road. But I’m addressing the big one that you can’t shake. The one lingering refusing to be totally forgotten.
And every now and then it will ring in your ear causing your heart to ache.
Yet we continue to ignore it until the uncomfortable place gets tighter.
How did you get here?
Today is a bit more poetic than I intended. The feelings, however, are accurate. Many readers of this blog are tired. They are tired of where they are. They long to be somewhere, anywhere but here.
I honestly would love to say “This is where you are”, like the maps in the mall, “and this is how you get back on track”.
“This is how you rid yourself of the energy you absorb due to living in a space that just doesn’t fit anymore.”
But the reality is…you are the key. You placed yourself on this path. Now you (with a little nudging on my part) have to get an idea of
Where you are…and
Where you want to be.
Let’s start at the beginning:
What skills and talents do you believe God gave you to share with the world?
I may be digging too deep with that one. We’ll shelf it for a bit. What about…
What has you running scared?
I think I did it again. 😉
I believe what we fear and our destiny are two sides of the same coin. One is bound to lead us to the other.
But these things I plan won’t happen right away. Slowly, steadily, surely, the time approaches when the vision will be fulfilled. If it seems slow, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed. Habakkuk 2:3 NLT
