This is Day 8 of 31 Days of Love and readers of the Bible in 90 Days are entering our 8th week of reading. Imagine, if you will, covering more than half of the bible in less than 2 months. It’s amazing…

Thus in continuance on this topic of love I’ve decided after yesterday’s post to use this week to create a foundation for the future posts. Yesterday we considered whether love was a feeling or a feat, affection or an action.
Focal Passage
This week I want to plant us in 1 John 4:7-21. We are going to read, review, and re-read this passage with intent on identifying some scriptural truths necessary to the coming posts.
As we focus on this passage we will interact with it and I will suggest a daily love task and a topic to journal.
Love Journal: We are nearing a meat and potatoes kind of moment. I don’t know about you but when I study scripture I find journaling helpful. I find it helps the passage become applicable on a personal level.
While using 1 John 4:7-21 to help us understand love I will provide a journal topic. However, feel free to use it or any others that surface while reading the passage.
Love Task: I did not venture on this month to merely gain knowledge for the sake of knowing more. I wanted to understand and embody love. Along with the journal topic I will also provide a Love Task. The tasks will range from reading to mobilizing our understanding of the scriptures we are sharing.
Let’s Get Started…

Love Task
Read 1 John 4:7-21.
Love Journal
1. Write down one scripture that seems to jump out at you. Write it word for word as presented in your bible. Then write the scripture in your own words.
2. Write what the passage means to you. You may find that you need to walk around for the day with the passage before you’ll be able to complete this portion of your journaling experience.
This is what it means to meditate on scripture. Read the scripture aloud. Listen to it. Carry it throughout your day. Consider how it is to manifest in your daily life.
3. Write a prayer concerning your understanding of how God wants to use this passage in your heart and life.
